1963-1985. Pedigree Dolls and Toys Limited. Sindy is a registered trademark of Pedigree Dolls And Toys Limited.
Sindy has had a few friends and family along the way, Patch of Course, her little sister, Paul, her boyfriend, both came along fairly soon after Sindy..Then in 1968 came Vicki and Mitzi, Vicki was Sindys English friend, and Mitzi was her French friend. Both with the same body as Sindy. Patch got two new fiends to, Poppet, based on the same body as patch, and Betsy, a tiny little friend from America.
Meet Vicki
Vicki was described as 'Sindy's new English girl-friend'...the 1968 style book sung her praises......
She has curly hair and a bubbly personality. She's a happy, swinging, fun-loving girl who loves parties and having a good time. And you'll love having fun with Vicki to.
Vicki was released wearing a fun party dress with bright pink sleevless bodice with turtle neck and flared mauve mini skirt with two bands of ribbon sewn near the hem, one in bright lime green and the other in a matching pink to the bodice., She wore white kitten heels and came with a free outfit, the red ski pants and white sweater from 'Winter Holiday', Vicki was also issued with a charm to go on Sindys charm braclet, this was a tennis racket. I'm guessing as she was Sindys English friend, Tennis..... Wimbledon.... very English !??
I just love Vicki's smile and bubble permed hair, she seems to be a love or hate doll amongst collectors, most prefering Mitzi. But Vicki has definatly won a place in my heart. Not that I'd say no to a nice Mitzi though !.....Anyone ???????...Ha Ha...
Vicki's Tennis racket charm, right, on the charm bracelet that came with every New Look Sindy from 1968, also seen is the boot charm that came with Patch, and the double heart charm that came with Poppet
Meet June
Meet June, Sindy's 'free' friend !
Yes it's true ! She really was free ! All you had to do was cut out and collect the heart tokens on Sindy's clothes and scensetter packs, stick them to a card provided, and once full, you could send them off for a free June ! The first June was the same size as Patch, and in my opinion not the best looker in the Sindy set ! The second edition was the same size as Sindy and in fact shared the same body, and had the 'starfish' hands. One other June followed and she had the 'Funtime' bandy legged body and new fin hands. This is second edition June...probably named after the girls comic of the same name as Sindy had a story strip in it each week, and also a Sindy club newsletter page. June was supplied naked, the idea being that you would buy Sindy clothes for her to wear, thus hopefully using up excess Sindy clothes stocks in their factory.

Third Edition June...
I belive third edition June would have been released around 1975-76 ? If this is so, I'm sure it's just coincidence that she has a 'Purdy' cut !? The New Avengers airing for the first time, in 1976. So June was a VERY fashionale lass indeed. It's also interesting that Pedigree seemed to have their finger much more on the 'pulse' of fashion in that, rather than change Sindy's look to suit fashion, they kept Sindy as she was, and introduced friends with different looks, giving children the choice of the fashion doll they wanted. This really started with Mitzi and Vicki back in 1968. A great idea.
I've popped June in the pink version of Goucho, available in 1975, as I think she has a very 'principle Boy' look, ...'Oh no she doesn't'.....Ha Ha......
This June had the 74-75 Sindy Funtime body with the slim, stiff 'bandy' legs, and twist waist.
Meet Marie !
Sindy's stunning friend Marie was intriduced in 1986, Pedigree's last year. And what a way to go, and what a gorgeous new friend for Sindy. Maria had the same basic body as Sindy, so she could wear all her clothes, and a lovely smile. The softest, shiniest hair in rich titian, cascaded in bouncy curls onto her shoulders. In some ways, she was like the 'modern' version of mitzi, with Vicki's smile thrown in for good measure.
It is thought that Marie's hair colour followed the new fashion and populariity for red / titian hair after Prince Andew met and married Sarah Ferguson. Marie wore a very smart crisp navy cotton vest style top, and over this a smart blousen style jacket in the very fashionable nuatical style blue and white stripes, a long pencil skirt matched, and she accessorised with blue court high heels, she has also been seen with white court high heels.
