I was so down and depressed but as soon as I read your article I felt more hopeful than I had in years! I was 150kgs when I read that article. I tore it out of the magazine and still have it! I'm pleased to now say that in April this year I was banded and have lost 15kgs so far. You are an inspiration! Thank-you for being in that magazine beause it encouraged me to look into the procedure. So pleased for you and you looked absolutely gorgeous on your wedding day! Glenys: Hi Kim, My sister had lapband surgery with Patrick last week and is doing well. She is about the same weight as you WERE. I am also booked in with Patrick on July 1st. I was browsing last night and found you website, needless to say I stayed up until about 2am reading every journal entry and was most inspired by your achievement and weight loss. Although you setbacks have me slightly concerned. I am 95kg, have Oesteoarthritis and Fybromyalga, so my incentive to loose weight is to hopefully reduce my pain, as exercise is very difficult due to the flairup of pain. Just wondering if you are in contact with anyone who has had the surgery for similar reasons, it would be good to speak to someone in the same boat. Debra: Just saw your childhood pictures. My kids arre overweight too. That's part of the reason Ihad my band done. It's part of changing eating habits for all of us. I don't want them to go through life with the stigma of being overweight. People are not kind.
