Unit History
Watch this Space
Luton South Division Rangers were formed in September 2006 which is when we also registered the unit. We are just one of many new Ranger units within Girlguiding Bedfordshire.
Above is our Registration Certificate
The Unit was formed in 2006. The idea to form a Ranger Unit was first thought of by a young adult leader. Numbers of girls tend to go up and down due to Exams, coursework, work commitments amongst other things.
We do have lots of fun for example This term, we have pampered ourselves, done some outdoor cooking, worked on the right here right now badges, continued with our look wider octant work, some of us have been on a camp and for a shopping trip to Milton Keynes with a local Brownie Pack, learnt Circus Skills, celebrated American Independence Day with some hot dogs and traditional American games and that's just in one term! These are all things we have chosen to do!
Some photos of when the county Archivist came to visit us with the old uniforms.
Luton South Division Rangers were formed in September 2006. We decided to open a division ranger unit as girls in the local area were reaching the age of 14 but did not want to leave the guiding movement. We meet on a fortnightly basis fitting our meetings around things such as coursework, exams and those who work.
During this year we have done many different things. In our fortnightly
meetings we have been working on the look wider scheme and we have had a few girls complete one or more octants. Our meetings are very much girl lead. They plan what they want to do and we provide the resources needed. We have also been working on the right here, right now scheme, as some of the girls said they would like to do badges. So far we have looked at the right to be me, the right to be happy and the right to work
together. We completed various different activities to gain these badges such as making scrolls with our names and there meanings on them, games themed around chocolate and learning how to work together as part of a team. Other things we have done in our meetings included a pamper evening, where we had foot spa's and face saunas. We have also done some outdoor cooking.

This year we also went to the ladies FA cup final. The two teams in the final were arsenal ladies and Charlton athletic ladies. Arsenal ladies won 4-1. although it was an eventful day and the coach didn’t turn up on time, then we only saw the second half. A good time was had by all and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. Then in September the Ladies FA Cup came to Haverings for a photo shoot with the girls who attended the event. This was a once in a life time experience as this never happens.

We also had our first indoor holiday with a theme of Hollywood Glamour where we pampered ourselves all weekend a good time was had by all, another one is in the planning for March 2008.

So what do we plan to do in 2008?
We will continue to work on the look wider scheme and also enjoy using the new Senior Section CD rom. A trip to Bournemouth is in the planning and we will also visit Brownsea Island to film a documentary on how Guiding began which will be published in 2010 for the centenary.
