History
I started to use Piczo a couple of years ago under the name "allyd29". It wasn't very good as I didn't know about HTML Codes or anything else. It had the Piczo page-lists, ugly colours and too many pictures on the homepage. It wasn't professional at all but I really enjoyed working on it.
Not long after I began to improve my site. I deleted a lot of pages and I looked more at layouts, colour themes and more. I would choose one picture as my main 'look' for the homepage and this made it look better. There were still some problems with it though. On some pages I would have text "lIkE tHiS!" which wasn't great. I collected loads of hits though and my site became more popular.
Soon after I started to make visitor content - I made my first tutorials and displayed graphics such as icons and 'three bars'. Now I have ever-growing visitor content and a lot of fun pages about me. I enjoy art and design which I think helps me when I make my layouts. I have downloaded a couple of paint shop pro free trials which is perfect for making blends.
Site name
When I first started my website I had the name "allyd29". Ally, my first name and the letter D is my other initial. 29 is just a lucky number of mine or something. It was nicely linked to me but I thought it was a bit tacky. When I was making v.c I knew I needed to change the name to something more professional. A friend of mine suggested the name paper-chase. I liked the name as it is quite unique and unusual but I think this draws attention. 'Paper chase' is actually a shop somewhere that sells pin-badges and stationary! Weird for a piczo site, huh? I like it though. In the future I might buy my own website that I will host myself (so it would just be .co.uk/.com instead of .piczo.com). If I do this I might have the name as alistair-design or ally-design. It is very uncertain that I buy a domain though, so don't be expecting one in the near future!
